Your data and your privacy
Wodo is built by a Dutch company with a background in software for government and regulated industries β where data sovereignty is the baseline, not a feature. That shapes the design more than any single feature; here is what it means concretely.
You choose where content lives
Every space picks a storage region at creation β EU or Canada today, more as they come. The choice is per space, so one organization can keep client work in the EU and a Canadian subsidiary's spaces in Canada. All current regions are within the EU/EEA or covered by an EU adequacy decision.
What lives where:
| Data | Where |
|---|---|
| Space content β items, documents, comments, attachments | The space's chosen region |
| Your cross-space personal state (inbox preferences) | Your home region |
| Search indexes | Built and kept per region β content is never indexed across a region boundary |
| Account, membership, and billing records | Central administrative database |
Infrastructure is European: OVHcloud for hosting, bunny.net for CDN, Lettermint for transactional email, Mollie for payments.
What we don't do
Short list, absolute on purpose:
- No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking β in the product or on this site. We genuinely don't know which buttons you click.
- No training AI models on your content. Ever.
- No selling or sharing data beyond the subprocessors in the DPA.
- No marketing emails. Invitations and invoices; that's the inbox footprint.
- No passwords stored β sign-in is delegated to your identity provider or a passkey on your device.
GDPR rights β access, rectification, erasure, portability β apply to every user globally, not just where the law forces us.
A real exit
Sovereignty includes the ability to leave. Any space exports in full at any time. Deleting your account is self-service, with a 30-day undo window before personal data is scrubbed. Closing an organization gives 30 read-only days for exports before content is deleted.
And the terms include the European Continuity Promise: should Wodoco ever pass under non-EU/EEA control, every customer has the right to a refund and a free, complete export. Built in Europe isn't a marketing line we'd like you to take on faith.
