Getting started

Is Wodo only for software teams?

No. Our internal test for every screen is: would a lawyer, a researcher, or a film crew understand this without knowing Scrum? Items, labels, milestones, cycles β€” the words are deliberately neutral, and every workflow term you see is one you defined yourself.

Can I use it as a simple to-do list?

Yes, and it's a perfectly good way to use Wodo indefinitely. A space with a three-value label gives you a shared TODO / Doing / Done board with live collaboration. Everything else β€” timelines, cycles, templates β€” stays out of your way until you go looking. The first learning path covers exactly this and nothing more.

Do I need to learn Scrum, sprints, or story points?

No. Wodo has no story points, no velocity charts, no burndown graphs β€” by conviction, not omission. If your team runs Sprints, cycles will feel familiar. If you've never heard of Scrum, nothing in Wodo will make you learn it.

Is there a free trial?

Better: the first member of an organization is free, forever. Use Wodo alone at no cost for as long as you like; you pay when you start collaborating. See pricing.

Items and labels

Why doesn't Wodo have a built-in Status field?

Because your process isn't ours to define. A "Status" in Wodo is just a label you created, with values in your words and your language. The system provides the mechanics β€” colors, grouping, ordering; templates provide opinions you can overrule. See Labels.

If labels are free-form, how does Wodo know an item is finished?

You mark which values count as final: any value β€” Done, Cancelled, Klaar, ClassΓ© β€” can be flagged as a completion state. Items reaching one leave people's inboxes and can auto-archive later. This is the one piece of bookkeeping that makes total label freedom workable.

Can my labels be in Dutch, German, French β€” any language?

Yes. Labels are plain text you type; nothing about them needs to be English. The app interface itself speaks English, Dutch, French, German, and Spanish.

What's the difference between archiving and deleting?

Archived items leave your views but stay searchable and recoverable β€” that's the normal (and only) end of an item's life: individual items can't be deleted at all. Permanent deletion exists only for an entire space, as a deliberate admin act. History has value; "didn't we try this before?" deserves an answer.

Can one item belong to several milestones or cycles?

No β€” one milestone and one cycle per item. Labels are where multiple dimensions live.

Collaboration

Can people outside my organization work with us?

Yes. Invite anyone by email into a specific space (or even a single document) as a guest. Guests see what they're invited to and nothing else, and they're billed at €1 per space instead of a member seat.

What do Read, Comment, and Write let someone do?

Read: see everything in the space. Comment: read everything, write comments only. Write: full editing. Space managers can additionally invite people and change permissions. Spaces are private by default β€” being in the organization grants nothing by itself.

Does Wodo work offline?

Yes. Edits made offline are kept locally and merge cleanly when you reconnect β€” no conflict dialogs, no lost work. A sync indicator in the navbar tells you the honest state at all times. See Offline and sync.

Does Wodo send notification emails?

Almost none. Invitations and billing, that's it. Mentions, assignments, and review reminders land in the in-app inbox, where you can dismiss or snooze them. No digest emails, no "your weekly summary".

Privacy and data

Where is my data stored? Can I choose?

Each space picks a storage region when it's created β€” EU or Canada today, more to come. One organization's spaces can span regions. Hosting is European (OVHcloud); see Your data and privacy for exactly what lives where.

Do you track usage, or train AI on my data?

Neither. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels β€” in the product or on this site. Your content is never used to train any model. We can't sell what we don't collect.

Can I export everything?

Yes β€” any space, any time: a full archive including attachments, or a data-only JSON. Your data is never hostage. See Import and export.

Is there a DPA?

Yes, a GDPR Article 28 data processing agreement at wodo.co/dpa, with the subprocessor list. All current subprocessors are European.

What happens to my data when I delete my account or close my organization?

Account deletion: your personal data is scrubbed after a 30-day grace window (the undo period); your name on past comments becomes "Former user". Closing an organization: a 30-day read-only export window, then content is deleted. Both are self-service, both are typed-confirmation deliberate.

What if Wodoco is acquired by a non-EU company?

Our terms include the European Continuity Promise: if control of the company leaves the EU/EEA, you have the right to a refund and a free, full export. We built in Europe on purpose; you shouldn't have to take that on faith.

Accounts and sign-in

Why is there no password?

Passwords are the weakest link in most products, so we don't have any. You sign in with Google, Microsoft, your company's own identity provider, or a passkey. There is no password database to breach.

Can we force sign-in through our own identity provider?

Yes. Verify ownership of your domain (a DNS record), connect any OIDC-compatible provider β€” Okta, Entra ID, anything standard β€” and sign-in for your domain's users is enforced through it. Included for every organization, not an enterprise upsell. See Members and domains.

Which languages does the app speak?

English, Dutch, French, German, and Spanish. Your labels and content are yours and can be in any language regardless.

Practical

Is there a mobile app?

Not a native one. Wodo works in mobile browsers, including drag-and-drop. An honest note: the experience is designed desktop-first today.

Can I import from Jira, Trello, or Asana?

Not yet β€” also an honest note. Today's import takes Wodo's own export format (which is complete, including attachments). Importers from other tools are on the radar but not built.

What integrations exist?

Slack and Microsoft Teams β€” space activity into a channel, create items from messages. And AI assistants: Wodo speaks MCP, the open protocol, so you bring the AI your company has approved β€” Mistral, a locally operated model, Claude, anything MCP-capable β€” and it can work with your items and documents under your permissions. We don't bundle one in. See Integrations.

How do I get help?

The ? button in the app β†’ Contact Support. A person reads it; we typically respond within 24 hours. There's no chatbot pretending otherwise.

What does Wodo cost?

First member free forever; then €6 per member per month and €1 per guest per space, everything included. The honest details β€” inactive-member discounts, the guest cap, storage β€” are on the pricing page.
